We are doing some research on top engineering website designs for a client. Engineering websites focus on functionality, speed and showcasing projects they are working on.
Some of the websites are using Cloudflare CDN, which we also use to speed up websites, and WordPress. The sites make good use of images and sliders to showcase their services.
An Engineering website does not need too much design but the layout and navigation needs to work well for business visitors.
The right level of content is important as people maybe interested in the projects they are working on.
1. Cobham Limited
This website is made with Umbraco CMS a fairly new CMS platform designed for developers, not designers, so it offers a more functional platform to display content.
The site is simple and effective, no frills but it is fast with good navigation and display of products and services.
The sitemap makes it really easy to find information quickly.
2. Tridan
Another very professional looking website with video introduction on the homepage which is great.
This website is made with WordPress with a striking mega menu drop down with two colour combos and includes a brochure download.
The whole design of the homepage is bright and bold with lots of the main information visitors will be looking for including direct links to services and other content deeper in the site.
The homepage offers a map location, news, Twitter feed and contact form so its all there.
Great use of images and links to ISO certificates.
3. Fluor Engineering
Fluor Engineering has put all their projects into a slide on the homepage so you can immediately see what they are working on.
The map shows projects underway across the world and types of projects. There is a brief news feed on the homepage and the share price.
This is a global business so its a sophisticated website, fast and with lots of useful content and videos for visitors.
4. Qinetiq
This website is using Cloudflare and maxcdn for extra speed and efficiency. The site is making good use of a mega menu to display internal links and has a secondary menu for additional company information.
The boxed content makes it easy to read and the boxed layout keeps everything tidy.
Nice, professional and functional website with subtle design elements.
5. Trant Engineering
They have opted for a full page slider to showcase their products and projects. It makes a great first impression. The graphic logos also lead you deeper into the site to more relevant content.
The site also uses Cloudflare, our chosen cdn.
They are using transparency nicely and on the services pages are using a static background which works well.
The layout and the branding has been done really nicely and the design is subtle but effective.
6. Byron Engineering Theme
You can recreate these website designs using tools available.
Engineering theme includes Elementor page builder which is super easy and loaded with design elements to create the perfect page design.
This on comes with 9 different demos, slider and it is has a multilingual feature so you can translate into different languages.
This theme also comes with newsletter sign up and social media integration so you have everything you need at your finger tips.
Lots of nice extra elements such as testimonials and graphics.
7. Billio Engineer engineering website designs
A really nice looking website theme with good use of transparency and colour combinations. I love the way the slider animates with the with the call to action layer.
Nice intro with the phone number and contact details prominent. This themes shows just how far we have come with the flexibility of WordPress and the pages are all customizable.
It looks very professional in terms of layout and typography. The footer looks good with the logo and map graphic.
8. Enginir Engineer engineering website designs
This theme comes with 7 demos and is easy to use and set up with the ability to make a few amendements with the customizer and live preview.
It comes with 50 template blocks, slider revolution, Mailchimp, woocommerce and WPBakery page builder.
This is a 5 star rating theme so it has been well and truly tried and tested. Ideal website theme for a small engineering company.
