The smartphone home screen isn’t just for displaying your favourite apps, the home screen can also contain quick links to your website to gain quick access.
IPhone and IPad
Create a link to your website or web page from your IPhone or Ipad so you can keep an eye on the website. Tap the share button on the phone or tablet (the square with an arrow pointing up) then tap Add to Home Screen button to create a branded button that will connect directly to the url selected. Before saving the icon you have the option to rename it from the default. Create a short description to show under the icon.
The shortcut can then be moved to a folder or a more appropriate place on the home screen by pressing down on the icon for a few seconds then dragging it to the right place. To put it into a folder, just drag it on top of an other icon.
To remove it just press down on the icon for a few seconds until it starts to shake then press the cross to delete the icon.
Summary
If you want to grow your business and/or have taken up blogging then adding quick links to quality sources on your mobile is a good time saving tip. Spending too much time surfing the web for mediocre blogs will not be time well spent.
If you are a content provider i.e. a blogger and want traffic to your site make sure you have a good logo for the quick links icon and your website looks good in all mobile devices by using a iPhone Simulator.
IPhone Screenshots
In researching this blog I found that you can take screenshots of your mobile phone. Here are the instructions:
Press and hold the sleep/turn off button on your mobile device then press and release the home button. This will create a screen shot that will be saved in your photo library.
