Earth Hour 26th March

Earth Hour Saturday 26th March 8.30pm

We like to celebrate Earth Hour every year by switching the lights off for one hour with others to appreciate our planet and to think more about preserving it.

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour was started in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund and other organisations for a mass lights out session in Sydney, Australia to raise awareness of Climate Change.

Now one of the biggest movements Earth Hour is held on the last weekend of March every year across the world in over 190 countries.

It has been recognised as a positive force for change.

Going beyond the hour

Earth hour raises the issue of climate change for one hour each year, but there are other ways to help every day:

  1. Eat more sustainably
  2. Waste less food
  3. Travel responsibly
  4. Eliminate plastics
  5. Save water
  6. Be energy efficient
  7. Protect natural spaces
  8. Be a conscious consumer
  9. Spread the word
  10. Stay informed

If we all practice these simple things then big change is possible.

Join an event from around the world

There are many events taking place around the world to find out more and get involved in local community projects.

Summary

Sitting in Guernsey having dinner by candle light for Earth Hour with friends was a memorable event and gets you talking about why you are doing it and why its important.

Protecting our world is a cause we will continue to support. Go green.

Team Lachlan

We are supporting the Brainchild Foundation

We are supporting the Brainchild Foundation and the fundraising and support they offer to young people and families affected by Brain Cancer.

One child's battle with brain cancer

In 2015 a beautiful little boy was taken from us after loosing a 2 year battle with brain cancer.

This brave little boy showed courage and spirit despite his illness leaving his family devastated, and changed forever.

This is a story of nightmares for all parents so we must unite and support this family with their epic challenge to raise funds for the medical specialists working to help and support those affected by brain and spine tumors.

Team Lachlan 2016/2016 Challenge

Lets do 2016 miles in 2016.”

So the challenge to raise funds in the memory of "Lachie" is to travel 2016 miles in the year 2016. The challenge can be done one of four ways, or combined; cycling, running, swimming or walking.

On 27th November, tomorrow, those supporting Team Lachlan will run 5km and it could be anywhere in the world. I will be doing this at Pembroke Beach in Guernsey with my two amigos.
