Created with WordPress this contemporary website includes images galleries, videos, posts, subscribe to newsletter, social media links/shares, search field, pop up boxes, simple PayPal payment buttons, testimonials and reviews, booking form and mega menu which acts as a sitemap.

Beautifully crafted, fast and appears effortless just like a dancer.

2. Rambert

Created with WordPress this bold, edgy website design has a contemporary feel with video on home page of a performance with date of the next show.

Then there is a carousel of projects with links. These projects contain videos and details. There is a projects archive page showing all the past performances.

Built using one page and one page with sidebar using large font the overall effect is simple and web organised.

Additional features include online booking system, sign up for newsletter and lots of posts about classes, events and news.

3. JLS Dance

Created with WordPress this website is branded with dark colours with a clearly laid out structure.

This is an example of a nicely laid out website, easy to navigate with the Mission Statement prominent on the home page.

Biography and list of the Dance Instructors with full price list for tuition fees for transparency.

Pdf registration form, list of what’s going on, calender of events and photo gallery. I would like to see some testimonials and videos.


4. Trinity Laban

Students and Staff section is a great idea for staff biography’s, online payments, newsletter sign up and useful information i.e. links to examination information.

Good use of the mega menu to separate information.

Secondary menu, Search field, social media and language changer all prominent on header.

Nice simple slider on home page include descriptions as is News feeds and Twitter feeds. Includes separate menu’s for Dance and Music and What’s on.

Subscribe to mailing list, sub folder for online payments and sub folder e-commerce website for purchasing products and services.

A simple and highly effective website.


5. The Place

Created using Drupal CMS this website includes a large slider of events on the home page with transparent overlay details and links to the relevant posts/pages.

Include blog, calender of events and book now facility, even choosing desired seats.

Advanced search facility to find suitable classes is very useful if there are lots of classes available to all types of dancer.

There is the ability to login to your account, this would give customers details of their own classes etc.

Donate online gives visitors the ability to donate to their chosen Fund.

6. Pineapple Dance Studios

Created using Magento CMS the home page includes a search function that gives the visitor the ability to search for classes immediately they land on the website.

There is a slider for each type of dance class with link directly to the page. This page includes full details and videos.

There is no messy here, the creator of this website has directed visitors directly to the information they seek. Teachers of those classes are listed and found alphabetically.

Subscribe to newsletter, blog and shop selling all the latest branded clothing.

Love the biography of founder Debbie Moore, lots information about her and the history of Pineapple with videos.

This website includes SSL (Secure Socket Layer) from Global Sign to secure personal data.

Bold layered slider with large images, large font and links deeper into the website.

All classes listed with images on the home page.

Special Offers section, this is great marketing for all businesses.

Map showing all the studio locations with address and photos below.

8. The Dance Club

A professional photographer has done an incredible job with these stunning dance images splashing in water.

using the Parralex effect with the overlay quote from the Dance Director shows great design.

Facebook Feed, Twitter Feed and Instagram pictures on the homepage and love the postit notes to students to remember important dates!

Loving the funky header images of the shoes and socks. Blog includes some terrific videos.

Great video slider on Backstage page.

About section includes: Facility, faculty and lessons.

Tuition fees are published. Class schedule is in pdf form but this is ok as long is its correct and up to date.

Videos on the homepage takes you straight into the Dance Company with Instagram feed and news on the homepage.

Created using Squarespace this website has a members login area, timetable of classes.

Using Jackrabbit CRSsystem.

10. The Southern Strutt

Created using WordPress I love the large slider background images of the young dancers on the home page as is the next performance and dance schedule.

Details of all the staff including pictures and gallery.

11. Tapio School of Dance

Nice big photographs of the young dancers on the homepage and throughout the website. This WordPress website is simple yet publishes all the information needed.

The sitemap is a good feature to give visitors access to all the links to the site.

12. CC & Co Dance Complex

This website shows a good photograph speaks a thousand words.

Homepage contains blog posts of events (but they are not making good use of ‘categories’)

Navigation is only showing in the footer on the IPad and have the page is missing. Using Jackrabbit CRS system.

I like the staff photos and biographies, its always nice to see staff of a business so too is the accolades and videos.

Homepage is bold with quick links to classes, registration, news and online shop.

15 Main headers is too many, usually we use 5 or 7. One page layout.

What’s On should feature prominently on the home page, many visitors to websites are there because they are seeking current information.

List of staff with images and short bio is good for potential customers. Many of the Dance Studios are using the Jack Rabbit CRS system for registration and billing system that can be branded.

If you have branded dance clothing then incorporate an online shop for parents to buy their uniform and a facility for parents to pay fees online either using PayPal or have the whole site built with Magento or other e-commerce solution.

Social Media feeds work well showing lots of interaction as does good use of Calenders and events lists showings times and dates of classes and competitions.

We recommended having a YouTube or Vimeo account to upload and store all your videos to a central place.

Finally, good use of quality images is the numero uno of a great quality Dance Website.
